Technology is the skills, knowledge, methods, and processes used to
achieve goals. People use technology to make their lives easier, it
could be as scientific as sending a spaceship to the moon or as simple
as calculating math sum on your calculator. In the 21st century, technology plays a dominant role in the social and economic horizon of our
personal life. The role and impact of technology in both our personnel
and working lives are ever-growing. So this paper will focus on answering the question ‘How Technology Impacts Human Life In The 21st Century?’
Technology impacts the human life in 21st century from all aspects but this paper will be firstly focusing on how technology impacts the sustainable agriculture (which is the most important part for human life) in the 21st century. The agriculture industry has traditionally been supportive of technological advancement, particularly in the field of genetic crop improvement.1 For decades, the industry has been mixing naturally the genetic traits of seeds in the search for particularly robust varieties. So first of all there are genetically modified seeds used in the 21st century which is a very useful technology nowadays as it increases crop production. But on the other hand there are alot of negative impacts of using genetically modified seeds. As farmer worry to use GM seeds because they will create superbugs and superweeds, that, over time, become resistant to GM seeds and crops and to other herbicides and pesticides. Some researchers have also suggested that the bugs, insects and weeds can evolve into resistant organism which is dangerous for the crop as nothing will affect those bugs and eventually the crop will be destroyed.Gene movement from crop to weed through pollen transfer has been demonstrated for GM crops when the crop is grown near a closely related weed species.Similarly, insects have, in the past, developed a resistance to pesticides.Another issue about biotechnology's effects is the potential harm that GM seeds and crops could cause to other, beneficial creatures. There is very little research to back up this concern. Cornell University conducted a study which gained a lot of attention. The study discovered that a gene contained within Bt corn can be harmful to the larvae of a monarch butterfly when windblown on milkweed leaves. Some researches have also linked GM seeds with cancer.Herbicides identified in Round-up tolerant crops were linked to the development of cancer in rats, according to a study published in 2013. The work was eventually withdrawn by the first publication that published it due to unfounded or misleading information; yet, it has been reprinted by numerous journals following the withdrawal. As a result, many people have come to the conclusion that eating genetically modified corn could be harmful to their health. Also GMOs containing bodybuilding ingredients from Brazil nuts have been found to cause allergies in people who are allergic to them.In modern agriculture chemical fertilizers are used which reduce the fertility of the soil and when they are washed away by surface run off into the water they cause water pollution. Also the it reduces the fertility of the land. But there are some benefits of using these technologies in agriculture as there will be great output and the farmer will get a good profit. Also because the majority of farmers are illiterates, they are unable to operate sophisticated machinery. Moreover modern machinery is used such as tractors, harvesters, threshers which harm the environment and make farmer lazy.

The second impact that I will be discussing will be how technology has affected globalization.Information and communication technology has created a social network society.A new sort of space has been developed as a result of reorganized global interactions, allowing for remote synchronous, real-time engagement between individuals, territories, and organizations in a variety of educational, cultural, economic, and political spheres.Technologies like smartphones, laptops, and in general internet has boosted globalization.
(4)
It is a fact that by technology globalization has increased in the 21st century but this globalization itself has a lot of negative impacts on the life of the people..This is the first argument against globalization that comes up most frequently in political debates in the United States concerning NAFTA and other trade agreements. When competing with less-developed countries, the United States has a significant advantage in terms of capital, whereas the less-developed countries have a significant edge in terms of cheap labor.
Globalization, on general, boosts capital returns in rich countries like the United States while decreasing labor returns in those same countries. That's a clever way of expressing that as a result of globalization, low-skill jobs in the United States may vanish (though technology plays a big role in this change, too). The result could be a drop in inter-country inequality but an increase in intra-country inequality. Moreover there are too many frauds online due to globalization as if for example you take the tinder or other dating apps you can easily get scammed because so dont know who the person is sitting on the other hand and many people have reported scams.
(5)
Moreover, one of the disadvantages of globalization is that there is an increase in competition for jobs, businesses etc.Whenever there is a job vacancy people around the world apply for it and so the competition increase because the companies want the best of the best.Globalization has been related to a number of environmental issues, many of which are serious, such as:Economic specialization and infrastructure development have resulted in deforestation and ecological loss.
Higher movement of commodities results in increased greenhouse gas emissions and other forms of pollution.
Invasion of new ecosystems by potentially invasive species.
(6)
Moreover employers in wealthy countries, such as the United States, are threatening to export employment unless workers accept salary cuts. Many middle-class workers, who have little clout in this global game, have developed a fear culture as a result. Also large multinational firms have the capacity to avoid paying taxes by using tax havens in other countries.Multinational firms are accused of social injustice, poor working conditions (including slave labour salaries, living and working circumstances), environmental apathy, natural resource mismanagement, and environmental destruction.Globalization, according to some experts, is also causing the spread of communicable diseases. Travelers are spreading deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS to the farthest reaches of the earth. Building products overseas in countries like China puts our technologies at risk of being copied or stolen, which is in fact happening rapidly. As apple Iphone copies are made cheaply in china and are sold world wide.
(7)
China nearly makes the copies of all the expensive phones which is a very threatening thing for the Apple company because many people are shifting from the original product to the fake one. Also due to globalization the Dark Web community has also increased as now everybody can easily access to DarkNet and can buy drug, weapons, slaves ect and this is very concerning.Globalization has resulted in labour exploitation. Inhumane working conditions are common among prisoners and underage laborers. To make low-cost goods, safety norms are disregarded. Human trafficking is on the rise as well.Because of deficits, job losses, and other economic repercussions of globalisation, social welfare schemes or "safety nets" are under severe strain in industrialised countries. But there are some positive impacts such as companies and consumers now have access to products from all over the world in a global market. Moreover Cultural exchange is taking place, and each country is learning more about the cultures of other. Also we have become more open and tolerant of one another on a social level, and people from other parts of the world are no longer regarded strangers. Most people consider speedy travel, mass communications, and rapid information transmission via the Internet to be advantages of globalisation.
After all I have researched I came up to the conclusion that in the 21st century humans are most affected by globalization which is the outcome of modern technology. As many people are being affected by globalization nowadays.People are sold to open market, childe pornography, illegal drugs and many more. Moreover many people have lost their jobs due to globalisation as mentionoed above. So keeping all arguments above in minds it could be said that globalisation affects the life of humans which is the outcome of the modern technology.
There are many ways by which we can reduce the threats from globalization to people.Firstly we can educate people for employment.Higher-skilled workers, as one might anticipate, have more options to increase their earnings than lower-skilled workers. Companies and governments, on the other hand, can help low-skilled employees migrate into higher-skilled occupations in three ways. The first is to concentrate primary, secondary, and university education on future-oriented skills. Too many young people spend their days acquiring skills that were useful in previous decades, and much fewer are gaining talents that will be useful in future high-growth jobs. As a result of the skills mismatch, many businesses are obliged to outsource production or hire better-trained foreign personnel. Local schoolchildren and businesses will benefit from frequent curriculum revisions. Finally, governments and businesses must consider tax changes. Raising the value of government benefits and payments for the poor is the most straightforward strategy to reduce income disparity. Governments can either raise government benefits (such as insurance, unemployment compensation, and educational subsidies) or lower taxes for low-income people—or a mix of both. Indeed, a recent research in Europe indicated that a wealth transfer of just 1% of a country's GDP could generate an additional $225 billion in consumer spending by targeting lower-income households, which have a stronger tendency to spend their money than wealthier households.

Moreover people should not blindly trust anyone that they find online but should do a good inspection before doing an investment so they can be secured from any kind of fraud.Major intelligence agencies should take a step to destroy DarkWeb as they can deploy their own hackers and men inside Dark Web and secretly arrest those people who come their for drugs, weapons, child pornography and human trading. Moreover their should be departmnets that should take care of online frauds.
In my this Individual report,I have used many different kinds of websites and I have used those websites which are unbiased.Mostly all of the websites I used are fully authentic.i didn't used anything other than websites because websites provided me all the information I needed so there was not a need to open books, journals etc. Moreover I have used different types of websites to get a broader aspect. Moreover this website(1) that I have used contained a pdf prepared by David Kruft itself has taken information for many documents so this gave me a wider aspect.
While writing this Individual Report I came to know about how much we are affected by technology as technology is the main cause for increase in globalization and using modern methods and technologies in agriculture.I was shocked to see the negative impacts of globalization and using GM seeds and chemical fertilisers. Before writing this paper I didn't gave much importance to these kinds of issue but when I did some research on this it changed my mind completely. There are some positive impacts of these issues but the negative impacts destroy all the positivity.
At last I will just say that the use of GM seeds is important now because there are alot of crop/food shortages nowadays so use of these kinks of seed, modern technology and chemical fertilizers is farmers need so we cannot stop him because without these we won't be able to get profit but we can ask him to not completely finish but reduce the use of these technologies.Coming to globalization we can only say that now we cannot stop globalization because we all are the part of this globalization but we can use some affected measures as mentioned above to reduce its negative impacts and solve this issue.
